Get To Know Your Checkoff – Live
Beef producers have a chance to learn more about checkoff programs by talking directly with checkoff leaders during a program to air Sept. 22 on RFD-TV at 7 p.m. Central. This program will focus on checkoff-funded activities in Fiscal Year 2009 and Beef Board Chairman Dave Bateman, Consumer Marketing Group Chair Virginia Coelho or California and Public Opinion & Issues Management Group Chairman David Dick of Missouri will be available to answer questions called in.
Russia Emerging As Key Beef Buyer
As export results for the first half of 2008 clearly indicate, Russia is emerging as one of the top destinations for U.S. beef with the help of the beef checkoff. Closed to U.S. beef from late 2003 through almost all of 2007, Russia has quickly become the third-largest destination for U.S. beef, with 24.7 million pounds exported in the first half of 2008. Further, Russia presents enormous opportunities for further growth.
